The ever-developing air travel and telecommunication technology in the 20th century created enormous momentum for contacts across the globe. Now, even the remote island of Tahiti in the south Pacific is expected to welcome thousands of holidaymakers in its busiest season and the local residents can make a fortune from it. This is symbolic of the internationally fast growing tourism and business resulting from the increased global communication. This development proces some positive effects, in the sense that people van make contact with those from varying cultures and be more informed about the world, and that for underdeveloped societies, their residents will have the opportunity to learn sophisticated business experience, with the many managers sent to these areas by multinational companies.
